With the emergence of Barnes & Noble over the past few years, the amount of book stores one can actually walk into have become more and more limited as the chain is taking over the filed. This year, however, another option will be opening for New York custoemrs, and it is a big name store at that. As we've been suspecting since July, Amazon says it will open a book store in Manhattan come this spring. The Wall Street Journal reports that the 4,000-square-foot store store will be located inside the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, which is also home to stores like Coach, Michael Kors, Cole Haan, and numerous upscale restaurants. According to the outlet, Amazon is extremely excited about its new stores location. The Consumerist tells us that this will be Amazon’s fourth brick-and-mortar bookstore, after opening its first in Seattle in 2015, followed by other locations in San Diego and Portland, OR. There are plans for more stores in Chicago and Dedham, MA, near Boston. There may also be another store in a new shopping center that’s under development in the Hudson Yards area of Manhattan, but that development won’t be completed until 2018.
