Smartwatches

Apple Watch Series 1, $180 Available at Target, this deal represents a $70 savings. Best Buy will also have the watch on sale, but for $199. The Series 1 model, which uses the same Apple operating system as the new Series 3 (priced at $329 and up), posted excellent scores in our testing for step-count and heart-rate-monitor accuracy. That combined with the nice price makes the Series 1 a wise choice. Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and Classic, $280 Samsung will offer this $70 discount on the two Android smartwatches through its website starting on Nov. 19. Both models received excellent ratings across the board from our testers. Best Buy is also selling the Classic version on Black Friday for $280. Fitbit Ionic, $300 That's the full price for this fitness-focused smartwatch, but Best Buy will include a free $50 gift card with the purchase. We haven't yet tested the model, but we did share some first impressions, applauding a few of the watch's workout features while lamenting its limited mobile app offerings.

Fitness Trackers

Garmin Vivioactive HR, $120 Available at Best Buy, this deal represents a whopping $130 price reduction on the tracker, which received very good marks from our testers. In addition to step-counting and sleep-tracking abilities, the Vivioactive HR features a 1.4-inch color touch-screen LCD display and a real-time heart-rate monitor. Fitbit Alta HR and Charge 2, $100 Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are offering the two trackers at what amounts to a $50 savings, but Walmart sweetens the deal by adding a spare band that usually sells for $30. The Charge 2 gets excellent marks from our testers for ease of use, step-count accuracy, and readability in low light. The Alta HR has yet to emerge from our labs, but its predecessor, the Alta, received a very good rating. Fitbit Blaze, $150 Best Buy and Target are offering a $50 discount on the watchlike Blaze, which features a 1.2-inch touch-screen LCD display and comes recommended by our testers. Garmin Viviosmart HR, $70 Best Buy will give you $30 off this lower-priced fitness tracker. Don’t let the comparably modest cost fool you. This band-based tracker with a 1.1-inch LCD display received an excellent rating from our testers. The above was first reported by Consumer Reports.
